Diamond Bulk Transportation, Inc. (DBT) was founded by Rick Hoyle in February of 2000. Operations were based in Fletcher, NC, hauling lime for Global Stone in Luttrell, TN.

Rick joined up with Bob Williamson and Victor Thompson in February of 2002. A second operations office was immediately opened in Portage, IN, hauling crushed limestone for Global Stone.

The Fletcher operations office was relocated to Newport , TN , in September, 2004, then to Knoxville , TN , in January, 2007, then to Chattanooga , TN , in November, 2007, to better utilize traffic lanes. The home office for Diamond Bulk is in Holly Hill, SC.
