StarTrans
became a South Carolina Corporation in July 2000. The founders,
Bob Williamson and Vic Thompson, were former managers at Santee
Carriers. Bob held the position of President from 1989-2000. Vic
was Vice-President – Finance, employed with Santee over fifteen
years. Together they have over seventy years combined experience in
the transportation of cement and building materials.

The
vision of StarTrans was to start with brand new equipment, which
would in turn attract only the best, experienced, qualified drivers.
This has proven to be very successful. The excellent on-time record
and safety performance has been tremendous.
The South Carolina Trucking Association has recognized StarTrans with 21 First Place Safety Awards and 4 Second Place Safety Awards over the last 7 years. Also, StarTrans won 4 Gold Fleet Safety Awards from Great West Casualty for 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006.
Our fleet has grown from the original purchase of seven new Volvo tractors and the leasing of five owner-operators in July 2000 to over six
hundred power units today. We opened terminals in Calera, AL in February 2001, Atlanta, GA in March 2001, Beaufort, SC in October 2001,
Winston-Salem, NC in January 2002, Portage, IN in June 2002, Dundee, MI in February 2003, Chattanooga, TN in February 2005, Virginia
Beach, VA in September of 2005, Tampa, FL in January 2006, Mobile, AL in February 2006, York, PA in June, 2006, Baton Rouge,
LA in June 2006, Maysville, KY in March, 2007, and Macon, GA in May, 2007. Our home office and main operation is located at
469 Boyer Road in Holly Hill, SC.
Diamond Bulk Transportation, Inc. in Chattanooga , TN and Portage , IN is an affiliated company operating 40 power units.
StarTrans
is in its seventh year of service. We are very proud of our
growth and positive effect on the market. However, the safety
record our drivers and operators have achieved is by far our
brightest shining STAR.
